Nevada Secretary of State

Did you know that nearly 560,000 businesses in Nevada manage their state business filings (licensing, renewals, and amendments) through the SilverFlume Business Portal? Business filings via SilverFlume generate approximately $200 million for the State General Fund annually.  Because SilverFlume is a critical tool for Nevada’s business community and vehicle for our economy, the 2023 Legislature granted the Secretary of State $15 million to improve the SilverFlume experience for both online and in-house users, as well as overhaul and modernize the system completely.  In December 2023 the Secretary of State publicly announced the launch of Project Orion to manage this massive undertaking with the goals of making business in Nevada easier, attracting new businesses and growing the State General Fund.

What is Next?

In November 2024, the Secretary of State entered under contract with Speridian Technologies! Speridian’s CaseXellence solution will replace our legacy system, SilverFlume, and help achieve the Secretary’s goals of Modernization, Innovation and Transparency while keeping his vision of “Making Business Easier in Nevada” front and center.

The new system will:

Modernize the way Nevada operates with state-of-the-art tools and processes.

Be Innovative in the way we will serve our customers providing user friendly solutions that increase efficiency with improved automation and self-serve functionality for both internal and online users.

The Secretary of State and Project Orion promise to provide Transparency with our customers. Updates and latest development news will be posted to this site as needed.

We are planning a multi-phased approach to the system overhaul and targeting Phase 1 go live with Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) in late spring 2025. Stay tuned for training and information as we get closer to our go live event!

The Division is responsible for accepting, filing, maintaining and providing public access to the organizational and amendatory documents of business entities organized under the laws of Nevada. The Commercial Recordings Division also registers trade names, trademarks, service marks and rights of publicity.
