What's Next

Project Orion is committed to improving the customer experience and lessening the burden on anyone who interacts with the Secretary of State’s Office and Commercial Recordings. We are excited to provide an update regarding the future state of the Business License system.

  • In addition to the systemic work there have been several process improvements made in Commercial Recordings that create efficiencies within the staff and the processes they use to manage business.
  • Now that we have accomplished our #1 goal of stabilizing the system, improving tools and removing our backlog, it is time to look forward and begin the work we are so excited about, overhauling our system completely. This past summer we went out to RFP looking for a partner that is innovative, efficient, with a customer-focused mindset and a solution that is easy to use by both internal and external users. It is with great pleasure we announce in November we contracted with Speridian Technologies.
  • Speridian's CaseXellence solution will increase the efficiencies of Commercial Recordings as well as for the online users, who will have a user-friendly interface, improved self-service functionality, improved mobile experience, and a secure modern solution for all.

We are also invested in Language Access for all Customers!

  • We're asking for your help with an important initiative: Language Access in our Agency.  We want to ensure everyone who interacts with us - no matter their language skills - feels supported and has access to the resources they need to be successful.
  • Will you invest a few minutes to full out a brief survey?  It is available in English and Spanish. This is part of our commitment to making our services more accessible to everyone, and we need YOUR input to make it happen!!

While we look to future possibilities, we stay committed to maintaining the stability of our current Business License system as we venture into the modern age with the new system. Stay connected via the Orion website to learn about launch plans and upcoming training sessions in the new year.
