Poll workers are vital to democracy, playing a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of our elections. As the frontline ambassadors of our democratic process, poll workers ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their ballot.
By volunteering as a poll worker, you have the unique opportunity to actively participate in facilitating the success of elections.
Who can be a poll worker?
All poll workers must meet the following requirements as laid out in NRS 293.217

Be registered to vote in Nevada

Be at least 18-years-old OR at least 16-years-old and enrolled in high school

Must not be a candidate for nomination or election, nor a relative of a candidate within two degrees of relation. (*See here for more details)

Complete required training
What are the responsibilities?
During Election Day and Early Voting, poll workers must be able to handle working long hours (in some cases up to 14 hours). You may expect to perform the following duties:

Set up/take down of the polling location

Protect ballots and voting equipment

Verify voter eligibility

Provide assistance to voters

Prior to Election Day: Training time depends on what type of work you will be doing at the polling place. Please reach out to your county for more information.

Election Day/Early Voting: Poll workers are expected to arrive to the polls early to setup and stay after to close the polling place. A typical day may range from 6:30am – 8pm.
