How to Renew Your Registration

Continuation of Bond

As part of the renewal, this office must receive proof of the required bond.  Bond Requirements changed in 2019 with new penal sum amounts and mandated bond templates for individual and business entity bonds.  The original signed surety is filed with the Secretary of State.

Starting in July 2020, proof of a bond renewal may be submitted in the form of a Continuation Certificate or a paid invoice showing zero balance due, bond number, and bond term.  Both of these documents can be obtained from the surety company that issued the bond.

A cash bond held by the Secretary of State does not require further verification and the renewal application is complete.

How to reapply if rejected or expired

If your initial application is rejected because it was not completed within 120 days, or your registration expires, you must reapply. A reapplication is the same as an initial application, which requires payment of a $100 non-refundable application fee and new fingerprints.

To reapply, click here to log into your account. Do not create a new account. Login with your username and password. If you have forgotten your password, click on the link “Forgot your password?” to reset. If you are having trouble logging in to your account, call 1-800-450-8594 option 6 or email docprep@sos.nv.gov.

Until the Certificate of Registration is received, you are not authorized to conduct document preparation service activity.  Unregistered activity is subject to civil and/or criminal penalties in NRS 240A.280 and 240A.290.
