Crafting the New Student Mock Election
We are grateful to have worked alongside: Nevada Department of Education, Youth Advisory Task Force, Voices in Voting, and Nevada Center for Civic Engagement! These groups have helped guide and offer feedback on the direction of change for the Student Mock Election.
What's New?
- The Mock Election has shifted away from using current candidates. The ballot will now use historical figures which can enable students to research Nevada history and policy impact!
- We have created lesson plans for each grade level and tied them to standards. This is flexible and allows teachers to decide the best way to offer instruction and have the resources already there for them.
- The Student Mock Election is now on Canvas! A system available across all 17 school districts, teachers can now find the resources and quizzes at their fingertips!
How to Get Involved?
Participation is open to schools, classes, organizations, youth groups, etc. Visit HERE to access the Canvas page with lesson plans and the Student Mock Election ballot! More information to come on the 2025 Student Mock!
