 What's New

This past quarter has been productive with over 50 different bug and enhancements being deployed into our Business License system. These items have primarily been back end, data clean up, and internal facing, but all of them continue to improve stability and productivity.

In March 2025, the Business License Portal was updated. Online customers should be aware of a few items in this release: only one Release Manager Statement of Change is allowed per entity and UCC Bulk Data download and subscription functionality is now available. See details below.

Statement of Change

  • Only one Statement of Change can be completed per entity. Multiple Statement of Change filings should equal multiple entities. When an online customer attempts to add multiple Registered Agent Statement of Change filings or Statement of Change AND Reinstatement or Revival Filing to the Shopping Cart on a single Entity transaction, they will now receive the below alert message.

  • Additionally, the online customer can no longer select a “Resigned” Agent name under Registered Agent Search screen. They will now receive the below alert.

What's Next

The Secretary of State’s Office, Commercial Recordings, and Project Orion continue their complete modernization of the business portal to make business easier in Nevada and incentivize more entrepreneurs and business owners to invest in our state. We reported in December that we are contracted with Speridian Technologies and are moving forward with their CaseXellence solution.

  • Speridian's CaseXellence solution will increase the efficiencies of Commercial Recordings as well as for the online users, who will have a user-friendly interface, improved self-service functionality, improved mobile experience, and a secure modern solution for all.

The new system will:

Modernize the way Nevada operates with state-of-the-art tools and processes.

Be Innovative in the way we will serve our customers providing user friendly solutions that increase efficiency with improved automation and self-serve functionality for both internal and online users.

The Secretary of State and Project Orion promise to provide Transparency with our customers. Updates and latest development news will be posted to this site as needed.

We are planning a multi-phased approach to the system overhaul and targeting Phase 1 "go live" with Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) in late spring 2025. Stay tuned for training and information as we get closer to our "go live" event!
