Voter Registration Numbers Increase for All Political Parties in June

(Carson City, NV; July 1, 2016) – The voter registration numbers for all political parties in Nevada increased in June 2016, as shown by the data released by Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske’s Election Division.  The number of statewide active registered voters increased by 26,290 (2.03%) since the close of registration for the primary election.

Of the 1,321,912 active registered voters in Nevada:

• 528,589 (39.99%) are Democrats
• 458,828 (34.71%) are Republicans
• 254,527 (19.25%) are Nonpartisan
• 58,180 (4.40%) are members of the Independent American Party
• 10,423 (0.79%) are members of the Libertarian Party of Nevada; and
• 11,365 (0.86%) are members of other minor political parties.

Total active Republican voter registration increased by 1.50% (6,800), while total active Democratic voter registration increased by 2.02% (10,465).
